The controversies during the Indo-Pakistan match in the Super-4 round of Asia Cup 2025 created a stir in the cricket world. Both the cricket boards had complained to the ICC against each other’s players. Due to which Suryakumar Yadav attended the ICC hearing on 25 September. Where he was reprimanded. At the same time, BCCI had complained to the ICC against Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf. On which the ICC has taken big action.
ICC action on Pakistan players
Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf made gestures against India in the Super-4 match. Sahibzada Farhan did the gun celebration after completing the half -century. At the same time, Haris Rauf gestured like dropping the aircraft. Due to this, Haris Rauf has been fined 30 percent of his match fees for aggressive gestures and unfair behavior by the ICC. At the same time, batsman Sahibzada Farhan has been left with warning only for his ‘gunshot’ celebration.
This action of Rauf was against the spirit of the game, due to which he was fined. During the batting of Team India, he made gestures like demolishing fighter aircraft, pointing to ‘6-0’. Which was described by the Indian side as sensitive and provocative. The ICC also decided to punish Rauf for his behavior after investigating the matter. However, Haris Rauf has not faced the ban. In such a situation, he will be able to be a part of the final match played between India and Pakistan.
What did Sahibzada Farhan do?
Sahibzada Farhan played a brilliant innings in this match of Super-4. He scored 58 runs from 45 balls. But after completing the half -century, he celebrated the gunshot. That is, he gestured like a gun on the ground. This celebration was considered sensitive in the context of Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor of India. Due to which the ICC has warned them not to do so further.
