Suriya continues to prove his popularity in the Telugu states with Vishwanath And Sons, which has performed exceptionally well in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While the film has recorded a relatively subdued run Tamil Nadu, its run in the Telugu market has helped it cross the Rs 100 crore mark in India net collections. The Suriya and Mamitha Baiju starrer directed by Venky Atluri has now emerged as the fifth-highest-grossing Kollywood film in the Telugu states and is eyeing an even higher position. With the film surpassing its breakeven target, distributors are also enjoying profits from its impressive theatrical run.

 has long enjoyed a good fan base in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and is often referred to as the ‘adopted son’ of Telugu audiences. Vishwanath And Sons has further managed to hold that reputation, especially as the film continues to outperform expectations in the region.

The film has now become the fifth-highest-grossing Kollywood release in the Telugu states. With good word of mouth it is expected to challenge  , which earned around Rs 67 crore gross in the region, for the fourth position. It could subsequently target  , which reportedly earned Rs 69.83 crore gross, for the third spot.

Vishwanath And Sons recorded an impressive jump in box office collections on Saturday as the film entered its third week. According to Sacnilk, the Suriya starrer earned an estimated Rs 2.61 crore net in India on Day 16 from 1,331 shows. With this addition, its total India net collection has reached Rs 113.46 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 131.34 crore. Vishwanath And Sons has earned a solid Rs 58.55 crore gross in the Telugu states in its first 15 days. The film had a breakeven target of around Rs 40 crore gross, meaning it has already generated an estimated profit of Rs 18.55 crore for distributors in the region.

Suriya’s Film Has Advantage Over Toxic

The film’s performance has become impressive amid Toxic’s underwhelming response. With the Yash starrer facing a mixed theatrical reception, Vishwanath And Sons has benefited from audience support and is likely to continue adding to its Telugu states total in the coming days. Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath, with Mamitha Baiju as Maddy. The film also features an extensive supporting cast, including Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik and Master Charvik.
