Purushottam Maas Thursday: In Sanatan Dharma, every day is dedicated to some deity or planet. Thursday has been dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the creator of the world. This day has also been given to Jupiter, the guru of the gods. On this day, fasting and worship of Shri Hari Vishnu is done as per the rituals. Besides, Guru Brihaspati is also worshiped and remedies are done.
Adhikamaas is going on these days. This month is of Lord Vishnu only. It is also called Purushottam month and Malmas. Today is a coincidence of Purushottam month and Thursday. According to the belief, doing some auspicious work on Thursday of Purushottam month like doing special worship of Lord Vishnu and making donations increases happiness and prosperity. Auspiciousness comes in life and wealth and prosperity increases.
Do this work on Thursday
Banana Worship: Those fasting on Thursday must worship the banana tree. At the time of puja, add some gram dal, yellow flowers, yellow sandalwood to the banana root. Also tie Kalawa. Then pray to Lord Vishnu for happiness, prosperity and well-being. By doing this one gets blessings from God.
Text of Vishnu Sahastranam: On Thursday, sit at the worship place of your home and recite Vishnu Sahastranam at least once. By reciting this, Lord Vishnu is pleased and fulfills all the wishes.
Donation of yellow items: Donate yellow items on Thursday. Donating banana, yellow turmeric, yellow mustard, yellow colored clothes, yellow sweets etc. on this day gives special benefits and virtues.
Text of the story: On Thursday, read or listen to the fast story of Brihaspati Dev. According to belief, by doing this the blessings of Shri Hari Vishnu remain in life. The misfortunes of life go away.
Chanting of mantras: Chant the mantras Om Brim Brihaspataye Namah and Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya. With the effect of mantra one receives special blessings of Lord Vishnu. Also every wish is fulfilled.
