PM Modi BSNL 4G Launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch indigenous 4G network from Odisha. High-speed internet will reach remote and border areas including 240 villages of UP. BSNL installed 4G services on 6659 sites.
Taking another historical step towards Digital India and self -reliant India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the country’s first completely indigenous 4G network to the nation from Jharsuguda in Odisha on Saturday. This will not only be a technical launch, but will be a new identity of India’s indigenous abilities and digital resolution. The event will also be broadcast live at the Indira Gandhi Foundation (IGP) in Lucknow, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present.
Uttar Pradesh will get a big benefit from this revolutionary initiative. More than 24 thousand people from 240 villages of the state will be able to use high-speed 4G services for the first time.
Digital expansion increases rapidly in UP
According to BSNL, 4G services have been installed on 6659 sites in the state so far. Of these, 141 sites have been prepared through Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN), for which the Yogi government provided the land of the Gram Sabha for free.
- 68 SSB sites have been approved on the Indo-Nepal border.
- 2G services are being upgraded to 4G in Naxal -affected districts like Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.
Indigenous technology ready in 22 months
C-Dot, Tejas and TCS have developed completely indigenous 4G technology in just 22 months. It can be easily upgraded to 5G through software. With this initiative, connectivity will be reached in 26700 aspical villages across the country including UP and more than 20 lakh new consumers will benefit. India has now become the fifth country in the world, which has completely developed and implemented indigenous 4G telecom stacks.

BSNL’s return and financial strength
Long struggling BSNL has recently made a spectacular comeback.
- In the third quarter of FY 2024-25, he recorded a profit of ₹ 2262 crore and ₹ 280 crore in the fourth quarter.
- The company’s annual deficit declined by 58% to ₹ 2247 crore.
- Operating revenue increased by 7.8% to ₹ 20,841 crore.
- Ebitda doubled ₹ 5,396 crore and margin improved by 23%.
This indigenous 4G network will not only provide digital services to rural and border areas but will also strengthen national security. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this initiative is not only a milestone in the direction of self -reliant India, but will also open a new path of development in remote areas of the state.
