About the Don 3 controversy
Don 3 was officially announced in 2024 as the next chapter in the iconic Don franchise. The makers even unveiled Ranveer’s first look and announced Kiara Advani as the leading lady. However, the actress backed out of the film after she got pregnant.
A significant dispute emerged between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar’s production house, Excel Entertainment, following from the highly anticipated film Don 3. The Producers Guild of India intervened in the mediation. The core issue centered on Excel Entertainment demanding Rs 40 crore in compensation from Ranveer for pre-production expenses, scheduling delays, and related losses.
The actor reportedly left due to dissatisfaction with the script and the lack of a “bound script.” He also reportedly claimed that Farhan tried to prioritise other projects and his acting career over Don 3.
Amid all this controversy, reports also emerged that Ranveer had returned the signing amount and given the production house a stake in his next project, Pralay. However, Excel Entertainment rubbished those claims.
