Former Lok Sabha MP and veteran actor Paresh Rawal has praised India’s youth, saying they are full of passion but must tread cautiously in the future.
Addressing reporters on Friday, the 71-year-old actor said that several youth-led revolutions in India have historically stalled or lost momentum due to negative external influences.
“There is a lot of hope from the new generation, which is full of passion and enthusiasm, but it needs to move ahead with caution,” Rawal said after attending an event in Indore.
The former Lok Sabha MP further said that the entire education system needed improvement, and that teachers, students and parents would have to change their outlook.
“Parents should also not support such unfair activities,” he said, referring to the recent allegations of NEET-UG paper leak, adding that parents would have provided the money for buying the leaked papers.
The actor, best known for portraying Babu Rao Ganpatrao Apte, popularly known as Babu Bhaiya in the film series, said he saw an image of the common man depicted in R K Laxman’s cartoons in the role.
“If you take characters like Babu Bhaiya and put them into new film stories and take them in a different direction, the audience will also enjoy it,” he said, feeling suffocated when his popular characters were stereotypically portrayed.
