A 72 feet high eco-friendly Durga statue has been installed for Navratri in Hyderabad. This statue made of grass and clay was made by 26 artisans of Kolkata in 45 days. It will also be immersed in an environmentally friendly manner.
Hyderabad: The 72 feet high eco-friendly Durga Mata statue has been installed in the city of Hyderabad in this Navratri, Telangana. This idol has become a center of attraction for all the devotees, who are coming from far and wide to see and worship Goddess Durga. Gulab Srinivas, founder and organizer of Shri Navadurga Navratri Utsav Samiti, talked about the preparations for this year’s Navratri and gave information about the unique statue of Goddess Durga.
Srinivas said that the Sri Navadurga Navratri Utsav Samiti is celebrating its 26th year celebration with a grand installation of 72 feet eco-friendly Durga idol in Victory Playground of Asamia Bazaar, Hyderabad. According to Gulab Srinivas, this statue is made up of environmentally friendly things, including grass, West Bengal soil and water paint. The idol shows Durga Devi Varahi Mata and also consists of Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu, which gives it a rare and unique look.
26 artisans made a 72 feet tall mother statue in 45 days
26 artisans of Kolkata have made this idol by working hard for 45 days, which has cost about ₹ 20 lakhs. Due to bad weather, the artisans faced difficulties, but their dedication and hard work have prepared a great statue. This festival attracts a large number of devotees, including foreigners, who come to worship and experience celebration. The organizers have provided all the necessary facilities for the devotees, so that they get a comfortable and pleasant experience.
Fire engine will immerse the idol
After the Maha Home (Shanti Puja), there will be an immersion process on 4 October and a small Durga idol will be taken out in the procession, which will further increase the enthusiasm of the festival.
Srinivas further explained that the idol will then be immersed in Victoria Ground using a fire engine, in which water will be poured over the statue, making it slowly melted.
