The last trailer for , starring House of the Dragon star in the title role, shows the reluctant heroine stating that she and her cousin Superman (David Corenswet) have different ideas of what it means to be a hero. She says, “He sees the good in everyone while I see the truth.” The action-packed superhero film shows Alcock’s Kara Zor-El stepping up to the occasion not just to save her beloved dog, Krypto, but also protect a young woman named Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley). The trailer has some longer glimpses of Corenswet and Jason Momoa as Lobo. Check out the trailer below.
Supergirl final trailer reunites Kara with cousin Superman
James Gunn shared the final trailer of Supergirl on X (formerly Twitter), while revealing that tickets were available for the film. It will also be released in IMAX theatres on June 26. The previous trailers have established that Kara is a bit of a loner and Krypto is basically her best friend. The final trailer reveals more hints that the feature is inspired by the comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Set to the music of Blondie with the song Call Me, Kara takes the help of Lobo (Jason Momoa) to protect Ruthye from Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) and defeat the evil villain once and for all. Ruthye wants revenge for her dead father and enlists Kara’s aid. Krem is also the one to hurt Krypto and Kara will do anything to protect the dog who is her family. The trailer also brings in her famous cousin Kal-El, aka Superman, who brings her a supersuit to help her on her way.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl is written by Ana Nogueira. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham play Supergirl’s parents Zor-El: and Alura In-Ze, respectively. In 2026, DC Studios is releasing three big projects. Supergirl, which introduces Alcock, is the first of the year. It will be followed by the HBO series Lanterns starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre on August 16, 2026. The film Clayface starring Tom Rhys Harries will be released in theatres on October 23. Alcock and Momoa are expected to return in Superman’s sequel, that began filming recently. It will be released globally on July 9, 2027.
