New Delhi: A male passenger onboard Air India Express flight IX-195 from Dubai to Jaipur allegedly misbehaved with a female cabin crew member shortly after takeoff on Saturday. According to reports, the passenger, reportedly intoxicated, behaved indecently and even attempted to touch the crew member inappropriately.
The cabin crew immediately informed her colleagues after observing the passenger’s inappropriate behaviour. When other crew members intervened, the passenger reportedly initiated an argument with them as well.
His unruly behaviour continued throughout the flight
According to The New Indian Express report, the flight departed from Dubai Airport at approximately 12:45 am on Friday. The accused, seated in seat 15-B, was allegedly consuming alcohol during the flight. When confronted by the crew, he claimed it was orange juice, but the cabin crew identified it as alcohol and warned him that alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited onboard.
Despite multiple warnings, the passenger refused to cooperate with the cabin crew. The crew forcefully took away the glass from the accused, which enraged the passenger and escalated the situation. The argument reportedly continued throughout the flight.
Upon realising that a formal complaint might be filed against him, the passenger began apologising to the crew. However, upon landing, he again created a scene by refusing to submit his boarding pass and arguing with ground staff.
Complaint filed against passenger
In her written complaint, the female crew member detailed how he repeatedly harassed her during the flight. Despite her clear refusals, he allegedly tried to touch her inappropriately, first when she was near his seat, and again using the pretext of requesting a drink.
The cabin crew handed over the passenger to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) upon landing. He was subsequently transferred to the Airport Police Station. A written complaint has been submitted to the airport authorities by the crew member.
