IRCTC Records: IRCTC suddenly took a big step, which will change everything regarding Tatkal tickets! Big operation of Railways, what is the secret behind action on crores of IDs? Why were 3 crore IDs closed?
New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has intensified its efforts this year to prevent fraud and cyber fraud. Its aim is to ensure that genuine passengers get a fair opportunity to book tickets and to prevent misuse of the system. It is being told that after this action, people will now be able to get Tatkal tickets easily.
- IRCTC said that the corporation deactivated 3.03 crore suspicious user IDs in 2025. Additionally, large-scale malicious online traffic on the system (i.e. online attacks carried out with malicious intent) was also regularly blocked, thereby keeping the ticketing system secure.
13,343 suspicious email domains blocked
In its official data, IRCTC reported that 501 complaints were filed on the National Cyber Crime Portal in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. These complaints were related to 4.18 lakh suspicious PNRs. Additionally, 6.05 crore suspicious user IDs have been placed for re-verification to verify their authenticity and prevent misuse. IRCTC also took action against fake digital identities and blocked 13,343 suspicious email domains this year.
Will e-ticketing be available easily now?
- Another special thing is that IRCTC has achieved many big milestones in internet ticketing during 2025-26. Record-breaking growth in online reservations has been achieved, while measures to combat cyber fraud and illegal bookings have also been strengthened.
- According to official data, an average of 14.53 lakh tickets were booked every day on IRCTC during 2025-26.
- This is much higher than the average of 13.88 lakh tickets for 2024-25. These figures show how much passengers have become dependent on digital platforms for railway reservations.
- RCTC also made new records in ticket booking this year. The record for highest number of bookings in one minute was set on August 16, 2025 at 10:02 am, when 37,410 tickets were booked.
- Another record was made on August 19, 2025, when the highest number of 18.40 lakh tickets were booked on the platform in a single day.
