Colombo: India declared their first innings at 503 for 9 after Dhruv Jurel struck his century on the second day of the second Test against Sri Lanka here Monday.
Jurel underlined his credentials as a specialist Test batter with a 177-ball 115, his second hundred, studded with nine fours and two sixes, before he was out in the post-tea session.
India faced 138 overs in all.
India were 475 for 8 when umpires took early tea due to heavy downpour.
In the post-lunch session, India lost the wickets of Rishabh Pant (63) and Manav Suthar (18). Pant and Jurel had added 112 invaluable runs for the seventh wicket.
