Ind vs SL | India declare on 503-9 after Dhruv Jurel’s hundred

Colombo: India rode Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten hundred to reach 503-9 before declaring their first innings on day two of the second and final  in Colombo on Monday.

Jurel made 115 not out, his second test century, which included nine fours and two sixes.

Jurel combined with Rishabh Pant in a 112-run stand for the seventh wicket to consolidate India’s position. Pant, who had retired hurt with a forearm injury, returned to score a fluent 63.

Asitha Fernando was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers with figures of 4-106.

India are 1-0 ahead in the two-test series.
