Delhi: ‘Influencer’ beaten by rival over social media post in Tilak Nagar

New Delhi: A person active on social media was attacked by a group of people in Delhi after he shared a post online. The incident took place in the Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi. A video of the attack was widely shared on different social media platforms.

In one of the clips, a man named Deepak Sharma can be seen lying on the road while being hit, according to a police officer who spoke to PTI. Deepak Sharma said there had been some problems between him and the other group for several days. In his statement to the Delhi Police, Sharma also said that Pradeep Dhaka and his friends, who were behind the attack, had plans to kill him.

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR), and the investigation is currently going on. Later, West Delhi’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vichitra Veer, shared an update on the matter. He confirmed that the people involved were identified as Pradeep Dhaka and his group.

“A case has been filed under the right sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and a special team is working to find and arrest the people responsible,” Veer added. The officer also said that both Deepak Sharma and Pradeep Dhaka are social media influencers. They had both attended a common event at Mall Road in Tilak Nagar. “It seems the fight started because of some disagreement related to posts on social media,” he explained.

On a related note, famous Haryanvi singer Fazilpuria had a narrow escape on Monday after unknown attackers shot at his car. The shooting took place on the Southern Peripheral Road near Badshahpur, which is close to Gurugram.

According to media reports, Fazilpuria, whose real name is Rahul Yadav, was inside his car when several gunshots were fired at him. It looked like a planned attack. The news shocked fans and others in the regional music world.
