Actor and Member of Parliament (MP) has once again attacked fellow actor The feud was reignited when Ranaut took to her on Saturday evening, posting two stories that seemed to target Pannu. Although the posts were deleted by Sunday morning, they have been widely shared online. The latest round of their long-standing feud was sparked by recent comments made by Pannu about their public controversy.
‘One sasti copy is out and about…’
In her first story, Ranaut referred to a “sasti copy.”
She wrote, “One Sasti copy is out and about with her upcoming B-grade film…but today she crossed all limits shamelessly ridiculing my upbringing /parents, I think all parents do their best and I never bring any parents in to any argument, but today I also want to ask her parents why they couldn’t birth someone original like my parents did? Why a cheap Sasti copy?”
‘Why attack my parents’
Ranaut went on to defend her upbringing in her second story.
She wrote, “This is so unfortunate and so wrong but she is not the only one many people who grew up in shady cramped up outskirts of cities in dingy rented apartments with questionable backgrounds and incomes often question my upbringing.”
“It was a personal choice for me to start from scratch why attack my parents for that.”
Feud reignited after Pannu’s comments on controversy
The feud was reignited when in an interview with India Today.
She said she had never met Ranaut either before or after their exchanges became part of the nepotism debate.
She said, “My opinion on her is reflective of my upbringing and my way of talking, my way of perceiving things and hers… she stands by hers.”
“So, I think that’s enough for everybody to look and decide who comes from where.”
History of feud between Ranaut and Pannu
The feud between Pannu and Ranaut started in 2019 when Ranaut’s sister accused Pannu of copying Ranaut and called her a “sasti copy.”
The controversy escalated further in 2020 when Ranaut referred to Pannu and others as “B-grade actresses” and “needy outsiders” amid discussions on nepotism and industry politics.
Despite their differences, Pannu has maintained that she is ready to be friends with Ranaut.
