SMART FARMING: Is Nano Urea changing the picture of farming? Will we get relief from heavy fertilizer bags now? Can production be increased at low cost? Balodabazar farmer Shailendra Kumar has achieved great success in modern farming by adopting Nano DAP and Nano Urea.
Raipur. When a farmer moves away from traditional farming methods and adopts new technology, he not only increases his income but also becomes an inspiration for other farmers. Shailendra Kumar Kannauj, a progressive farmer of village Latuwa in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, has become one such inspiring example today. For the last two years he has been promoting smart and modern farming by using nano fertilizers like Nano Urea and Nano DAP in his farming.
Troubled by the increasing cost of farming, adopted nano technology
Farmer Shailendra Kumar said that the continuously increasing cost of farming and the difficulty of transporting heavy bags of traditional fertilizer from the shop to the field inspired him to think about new technology. On the advice of the Agriculture Department, he started using nano fertilizers. Initially this was a new experiment, but its results were very positive and better than expected.
Big savings in expenses through Nano Urea and Nano DAP
According to Shailendra, nano fertilizers are available at a lower cost than traditional fertilizers. This reduced the initial cost of farming. Besides, the problem of transportation and storage of manure was also relieved. He said that now there is no need to carry heavy sacks, because a small bottle of half a liter can be easily carried to the field.
Improvement in quality and yield of crops
Farmer Shailendra said that nano fertilizer is mixed with water and sprayed directly on the crops, due to which the plants get the right amount of nutrients. This reduces wastage of fertilizer and improves the quality of the crop. He claimed that with the use of this technology, an increase in production per acre has also been recorded.
Trust on nano fertilizer continues this year too
Encouraged by his success, Shailendra Kumar has decided to use only Nano Urea and Nano DAP in his entire farming this year also. This initiative of his is now becoming an inspiration for the farmers of entire Balodabazar district. The district administration and agriculture department are also encouraging farmers to adopt modern and low-cost farming by presenting Shailendra’s success as a role model.
Agriculture department is making farmers aware
The Agriculture Department is continuously giving information to farmers about the benefits of nanotechnology. The department believes that this will reduce the cost of farming, increase production and farmers will be able to become self-reliant. The success of farmers like Shailendra Kumar is now being considered a sign of a new agricultural revolution in rural areas.
