Yash’s intense gangster action drama Toxic appears to carry a vision beyond conventional Indian cinema, going by its trailer and other promotional material. The team recently held a grand pre-release event in Hyderabad.
Producer Dil Raju, who has been associated with Yash since the KGF days, praised the star for not settling down after achieving pan-India success. He also appreciated producer KVN for backing projects across languages and described him as one of the leading producers in Indian cinema today.
According to Dil Raju, Yash could have easily chosen another big commercial film after the success of KGF. However, he said Yash wanted to think beyond pan-India cinema and take Toxic to a global level.
Dil Raju said that when KVN quoted the amount for the Telugu theatrical rights, he took barely a minute to make the decision because he had complete confidence in the vision of Yash and KVN.
KVN described Toxic as the result of a bold dream backed by strong conviction. He said the effort put into the film would be visible in every frame and added that the movie should be seen as an experience rather than just another theatrical release.
The producer also praised Yash’s efforts to take Indian cinema to the global stage. He said that while Yash’s style, swag and attitude are visible on screen, his discipline, sacrifices, dedication and commitment are equally strong behind the scenes.
Yash expressed his gratitude to Telugu audiences and said the love he received after KGF was beyond words.
He said the support of Telugu audiences gives immense confidence to the Indian film industry and added that cinema goes beyond language and regional boundaries.
“Together now, we are Indian cinema,” Yash said.
Speaking about Toxic, Yash described it as “bold, original, ambitious and path-breaking” and promised that the film would offer a strong cinematic experience.
He said the project brings together Indian technicians and artistes with the aim of creating something that can reach audiences across the world.
Yash also praised Dil Raju and KVN for their passion for cinema and appreciated KVN Productions for supporting ambitious talent.
He praised Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani and Rukmini Vasanth, and thanked Nayanthara for her support.
Yash also said the film carries a strong voice for women and praised director Geetu Mohandas for her vision. According to him, the film will show that women can face difficult situations, express their ideas and succeed.
The actor promised Telugu audiences that their support would be returned through better films and stronger entertainment.
