Bhopal: Class 11 student hangs self at home, no suicide note found

A 17-year-old Class 11 student allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his Bhopal home. Police said no suicide note was found, and the minor did not use a mobile phone. An investigation is underway to determine the cause.

A 17-year-old student ended his life by allegedly hanging himself at his home in Bhopal, police said on Saturday. The alleged incident took place on Friday.

The boy was studying in Class 11 at a government school in the Nehru Nagar area and lived with his family near Jawahar Chowk in the city.

Police Launch Investigation

TT Nagar police station in-charge, Gaurav Singh, said, “Yesterday, we received information from the hospital that a family had brought a 17-year-old minor for treatment. After examination, doctors declared him brought dead. Upon questioning the family, it came to light that the minor was studying in Class 11 at government school in Nehru Nagar. He had hanged himself with a bedsheet at his home.”

Based on the information, the police registered a case in the matter, and a post-mortem of the body was conducted, the officer said.

No Suicide Note Recovered

“The exact cause of death has not yet been established, and no suicide note was recovered from the spot. The minor did not use a mobile phone either,” the police station in charge said.

The officer further said that the statements of the family members would be recorded soon, following which further action would be taken He added that no information regarding examination-related stress or any other specific reason behind the suicide has surfaced so far. Further investigation into the matter is underway. (ANI)
