Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has shared a reflective message on fate, luck and success, urging people to take responsibility for shaping their own lives rather than attributing their circumstances to luck.
In a post on his blog late Friday, the veteran actor said people frequently link their successes and failures to luck. He argued that fate is shaped by an individual’s own choices and efforts.
“They ask me .. luck or your fate .. luck is an excuse .. fate is what you make, and the success is what your fate is .. you built your fate .. blaming luck on fate – cannot understand,” Bachchan wrote.
Sharing the same thought in Hindi, Bachchan addressed those who believe they have been dealt a poor hand by fate. He stressed that everyone possesses the ability to shape their own destiny.
He further noted that life inevitably brings periods of both success and difficulty, but said the manner in which people overcome challenges through their abilities, strength and hard work is more important than circumstances themselves.
The actor concluded his message by extending his good wishes and happiness to his readers.
Bachchan has previously spoken about the role of luck in his own life, particularly in connection with the life-threatening accident he suffered on the sets of Coolie in the 1980s. He was hospitalised following the accident and was reported to have been critically close to death before recovering.
The actor has often expressed gratitude to his fans for their prayers and support during that period, crediting their affection with giving him what he has described as a second chance at life.
