CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s ‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ campaign has received over 2.5 lakh student entries. Students are sharing ideas on jobs, tourism, education, health, environment and technology.
The ‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ (My Dream Uttarakhand) campaign, launched by Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, is being participated in by the students of the state enthusiastically. Over 2.5 lakh students have already sent their essays and suggestions via the website of the campaign about how they would like to see Uttarakhand develop in the coming years.
The government has seen the campaign as much more than just an essay writing competition and considers it as a step to give ideas of the youth a place in the deliberations and policy making of the state.
Online Interaction of CM Dhami Increased Participation
Chief Minister Dhami held an online interaction with close to three lakh students of class 11 and 12 of Uttarakhand on 10th August and motivated them to write down their ideas for the development of the state and submit them through the campaign.
After the interaction, the students from government as well as private schools participated enthusiastically and there were numerous submissions.
Eight Major Topics on Which Students Have Submitted Ideas
Apart from the essays, these submission also include ideas, expectations and solutions in connection with the future of Uttarakhand. These perspectives have been taken into consideration by the government as these offer insights on how the youth see the development prospects of the state.
Ideas That Could Shape Future Policies
As per CM Dhami, these useful and practical suggestions of the students would be reviewed personally by him. As per the government, these ideas which have the potential to add value to the development of Uttarakhand could be taken into account while formulating future policies.
Therefore, this initiative aims at providing a platform for connecting aspirations of the students and the development planning process of the state.
Opportunity for 140 Students
As part of this campaign, 140 best contributions will be selected. These selected students would be given the opportunity to interact with senior government officials and secretaries.
In addition to this, chief minister Dhami will also interact with these selected students and hear about their vision. Career counseling, coaching for competitive examinations and other rewards will be offered to these students.
Certificate to Be Awarded to All Participants
Those who have submitted their essays via the portal are being awarded digital certificates. Both government and private schools in the mountains and plains of Uttarakhand are participating in the campaign, making it a state-wide campaign.
Submission of Essays to Be Completed by August 24
Dr Rahul Agrawal, coordinator of the campaign, stated that the objective of the campaign was to make the youth aware about the development process of the state and the policy making.
Submission of essays is going on and has been scheduled till August 24.
Chief Minister Dhami Monitoring Campaign
The chief minister is monitoring the campaign on a regular basis. The state government expects that the youth becomes contributor to the development of the state, rather than merely benefitting from government schemes.
