Deepika Padukone likes social media post slamming Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ego

Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga had a major fallout over “Spirit,” with the actress originally approached to play the female lead opposite Prabhas. However, differences reportedly arose over remuneration and other aspects of the deal.

“Spirit” is now being made with Triptii Dimri as the female lead, replacing Deepika Padukone.

The controversy has resurfaced after Pranaya Vanga, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s brother and the producer handling “Spirit,” recently spoke to the media while promoting their production banner’s upcoming film “Romanchakam.”

A journalist on Friday shared a clip of Pranaya Vanga’s comments, in which he reportedly said that Deepika had asked for a 10% profit share from “Spirit,” which eventually contributed to the misunderstanding and fallout.

The journalist also questioned the criticism aimed at Deepika, pointing out that profit-sharing deals and similar demands have long been part of negotiations involving male stars. The post suggested that criticising a woman for making such a demand reflects a double standard.

Deepika Padukone appeared to show her support for the post by liking it after it went viral.

The latest development suggests that the “Spirit” fallout between Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga may not have completely died down, even after the casting change and the passage of considerable time.
