Ronaldo sets record, scoring in 25th straight season for Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in his 25th successive season as Al Nassr beat Al-Riyadh 4-0. The goal helped Al Nassr claim the top spot in the Saudi Pro League and saw Ronaldo break a record he previously shared with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo was among the scorers as Al Nassr defeated Al-Riyadh 4-0 on Friday, with the Portuguese icon scoring in his 25th successive season. Abdulelah Al-Amri (18 minute), Angelo Gabriel (45+1 minute) scored in the first half for Al Nassr. Joao Felix scored in the 58th minute. Cristiano needed just 21 minutes after coming off the bench to score his first goal of the season in the 83rd minute, converting a low cross from Ayman Yahya into an effortless goal, as per Goal.com.

Now they have claimed the top spot from arch-rivals Al Hilal, both having won their first two games and having six points, with Cristiano’s side being ahead in goal difference.

Ronaldo Rewrites Record Books

Now, Cristiano has levelled with Mohammed Al-Sahlawi as the top-scorer in the Saudi Pro League in the professional era, with 103 goals each.

Cristiano has also extended his goal-scoring streak to 25 successive seasons, dating back to his days with Sporting Lisbon as a teenager. Now, he has left behind Ibrahimovic, who had shared the record with Cristiano for scoring in 24 successive seasons before this match.

Cristiano finished as the leading goal-scorer in the Saudi Pro League last season for Al Nassr with a total of 28 goals, third behind Al-Qadsiah’s Mexican star Julian Quinones (33 goals) and Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney (32 goals) of England.

The Portuguese star now has the most goals against Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League, with a total of six, level with Al-Taawoun’s current striker, Moroccan Abderrazak Hamdallah.
