The incident reportedly took place at the ‘Almiya’ restaurant in Athani. The manager, Satheesh, a native of Thalassery, was reportedly on duty when he noticed the students consuming beer inside the premises. He questioned them about drinking alcohol at the restaurant, following which an argument allegedly broke out.

The situation is said to have escalated, with one of the students allegedly attacking Satheesh with a blade. The manager sustained an injury to his right hand during the assault. The extent of his injuries and whether he required further medical treatment have not been disclosed.
Following the incident, Satheesh approached the police and lodged a complaint against the students. The Medical College police have taken up the matter and launched an investigation.
