Patna: The ‘Land for Job’ scam, which has been in the news for a long time in Bihar politics, has now reached a decisive turn. The Delhi -based Rouse Avenue Court has fixed the date of pronounced the case on 13 October 2025. The case includes Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav and other accused.
The court has directed all the accused to be present personally on the day of the decision. Earlier, the verdict was to be pronounced on 24 September in this case, but the court postponed the proceedings and declared the new date 13 October.
What is the ‘Land for Job’ scam?
The ‘Land for Job’ scam is from the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister at the Center from 2004 to 2009. It is alleged that during this period, many people were transferred to their or family names in exchange for giving group-D jobs in the railway. The CBI investigation found that the land was taken at a very low price at the market rate, allegedly indicating corruption and misuse of power.
