Yash’s ‘Toxic’ gets a new English trailer for global audiences

The makers of Yash’s upcoming film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ have released a new English-language trailer aimed at international viewers.

The latest cut takes a different approach from the Kannada trailer released earlier this month. Instead of placing most of its attention on Yash and his characters, the new trailer spends more time introducing the film’s setting, atmosphere and larger fictional world.

The English trailer also contains a couple of previously unseen glimpses. While action remains an important part of the presentation, the editing gives greater prominence to the period backdrop and the story’s central environment.

‘Toxic’ is set against a fictionalised version of Goa during the final phase of Portuguese colonial rule. The story follows Raya, who attempts to establish himself within the criminal underworld amid betrayal, violence and shifting power equations.

Yash appears in dual roles as Raya and Ticket. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas, who has also co-written the screenplay with Yash.

Described as a period gangster drama with an action-driven narrative, ‘Toxic’ explores ambition and the consequences of seeking control in a dangerous world.
