Fardeen Khan-Shefali Shah To Star In Netflix Period Drama Produced By Ektaa Kapoor: Report

Ektaa Kapoor signed a deal with Netflix a few months ago. She is coming up with two web series on the OTT platform. Recently, a report about one of the shows is going viral on social media. As per latest reports, Shefali Shah will be headlining Ektaa Kapoor’s next period drama series on Netflix with actor . It is indeed a surprise for all the fans, as nobody had thought that Fardeen and Shefali would do a film together due to their respective styles of acting. Titled Koke, the web series will be produced by Ektaa under Balaji Telefilms.

According to the Variety India report,   and Fardeen Khan have been roped in to play the lead roles in Ektaa Kapoor’s Koke. It will be their first collaboration together. Fardeen was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, while Shefali was seen in Delhi Crime 3.

The source close to the development informed the portal that the characters and the plot of the period drama series have been kept under wraps. However, the source revealed that the show is being mounted as a large-scale drama series with cast members from the TV industry as well. The actors have already commenced shooting for the show, as it is expected to premiere on Netflix in early 2027.

Koke is being helmed by Nupur Asthana, who had directed shows like Four More Shots Please. Nupur was supposed to direct the second season of The Royals. However, she apparently exited the Netflix project.

As far as the second web series of  is concerned, it is being helmed by Sahir Raza. The director is known for making shows like The Married Woman, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, Illegal Justice, Out Of Order and Doctors.

On the professional front, Shefali Shah will next be seen in her husband Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s heist thriller, Hisaab. The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles. Shefali is also a part of Rishab Shetty’s The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

On the other hand, Fardeen Khan was last seen in Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji as Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The film turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. Now, he is all set to feature in yet another period drama, Koke. Stay tuned for more updates!
