Hyundai is , codenamed SX3, which has already been spotted testing on multiple occasions. Based on the latest spy shots, NYMammoth has now created new renders showing what the upcoming SUV could look like in production form.
These renders are particularly interesting after the . Hyundai’s new Art of Steel design direction seen on Tucson appears to have influenced next-gen Creta as well. In international markets, the SX3 is expected to be sold under the Kona name, while India will continue with the highly successful Creta nameplate.
New Creta Gets Boxier Design
Compared to current Creta, the rendered next-gen model has a noticeably more upright and boxy appearance. Bonnet is flatter, while the front fascia uses strong horizontal elements to visually increase the SUV’s width.
A slim lighting strip stretches across much of the front, with the main headlamps positioned separately lower down. The bumper has large black inserts along with vertical elements towards the corners.
Side profile reveals some of the biggest changes. Rounded surfaces of current Creta make way for sharper lines and squared-off wheel arches. Window area is also more angular, especially around the C-pillar. Conventional door handles, roof rails and black body cladding can also be seen.
At the rear, the render shows a large black panel connecting the tail lamps. A thin LED light bar runs across the width, while individual lighting elements are positioned at either end. The international-spec render carries KONA lettering, whereas the India-spec SUV will wear Creta badging.
Tucson Shows Hyundai’s New SUV Design Direction
New-gen Tucson recently provided a clearer look at Hyundai’s evolving Art of Steel design philosophy. It focuses on geometric shapes, cleaner surfaces and a stronger, more upright SUV stance.
A similar approach can be seen with the rendered SX3. Squared wheel arches, horizontal lighting elements and relatively flat body surfaces indicate that Hyundai is moving ahead with this new styling direction across its SUV portfolio.
It is worth noting that these are independent digital renders based on spy shots and not official images from Hyundai. Final production-spec Creta could therefore have some differences.
New Interior, Hybrid Power Expected
Next-gen Creta is also expected to receive a completely redesigned cabin. the presence of Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system. Dashboard, steering wheel and centre console are expected to be redesigned, while existing premium features could receive further upgrades.
Another important addition is expected to be a hybrid powertrain. Hyundai is reportedly developing a strong-hybrid setup based around a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Existing petrol and diesel engine options are also expected to continue.
Next-gen Hyundai Creta is expected to launch in India in early 2027. With an Art of Steel-inspired exterior, new-generation cabin technology and an expected hybrid option, SX3 will bring some of the biggest changes yet for Creta in India.
