New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have appointed Varun Aaron as their new bowling coach ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The former India pacer, who is currently working as a TV pundit, will be replacing the former New Zealand pacer James Franklin, who will be ending his two-year stint at the franchise.
Franklin had replaced the legendary Dale Steyn in the role ahead of the IPL 2024 season. Sunrisers Hyderabad are known for the big names in their backroom staff. Aaron is the latest inclusion in their coaching setup and will look to utilise his experience in guiding the SRH bowlers from the next season. The former India pacer retired from international cricket in January this year, before turning to punditry.

Aaron made his international debut for India in 2011 and went on to play 9 Tests and as many ODIs for the country. The right-arm pacer could never fulfil his potential at the international level as he struggled with consistency and constant injury issues, which derailed his career. Aaron picked up 18 wickets in 9 Tests and finished with 11 wickets in ODIs for India.
