Government issued Complay Numbers

The government said on Tuesday that if consumers are not getting the benefit of GST rate cut, they can file their complaints on toll free number 1915 or through WhatsApp number 88001915. The Central Indirect Taxes and Customs Board (CBIC) said in the often asked questions (FAQ) that the victim customers can call toll free number 1915 on the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) or WhatsApp on 88001915. The CBIC said that complaints/questions can also be lodged on the Integrated Complaint Settlement System (INGRAM) portal.

Complaints are coming on social media

Under comprehensive reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST), it has been decided to do two slabs instead of four slabs. Now tax rates are five and 18 percent. As a result of the improvements in GST, the price of 99 percent of daily use items has come down. The government is monitoring pricing and various companies themselves have come forward and said that they are giving benefits of GST cuts by reducing prices. However, complaints have started coming on social media that some companies are not giving the benefit of GST rate cuts.

Government had announced GST reform

GST rate cuts have been implemented from the first day of Navratri, 22 September. After the GST Council meeting, on September 3, the country’s Finance Minister and GST Council President Nirmala Sitharaman announced the GST slab, announcing the GST reform. In which it was announced to keep only two slabs by removing 12 and 28 percent slabs. The Finance Minister had said that now there will be only two slabs of only 5 and 18 percent. Also, there will be a special slab of 40 percent. In which luxury products and sin products will be kept. At the same time, all cess and other extra charges were removed by the government.
