Ather Konarc Electric Scooter: 200 Km Range, Metal Body, BaaS, Price and Launch Date

Ather Konarc Electric Scooter: Ather Energy has dropped yet another teaser for the upcoming Konarc electric scooter. For the first time on an Ather production scooter it seems to show metal body panels. The next family oriented EV is set to have its global debut on August 29, 2026 at Ather Community Day.

This latest video has added to the buzz, mainly because the Konarc is expected to help Ather step into a more affordable high volume category. Still, a few big details like the final battery capacity, the official range and the exact price are obviously not out yet and we are waiting on Ather to confirm them.

Ather Konarc Electric Scooter: What’s Confirmed So Far?

The Konarc will be the first production scooter built on Ather’s new EL platform. Ather claims the platform was developed with more than 26 lakh kilometres of real  riding data, plus it’s meant to handle a range of upcoming scooter models later on.

Also, the teasers and the production images give a more practical, household friendly look, not the sharper sportier feel you usually see in the 450 lineup. What you can spot includes a handlebar mounted headlamp, a wide LED DRL, a long single piece seat, a roomy floorboard, slim LED tail lamps and a front disc brake.

Metal Body Panels

Ather’s existing scooters have primarily used polymer body panels, making the Konarc’s apparent move towards metal particularly significant. The change could help Ather appeal to traditional scooter buyers who associate metal construction with a more substantial and durable feel.

The latest teaser from Ather has now strengthened earlier reports that the production Konarc will feature metal body panels.

200 Km Range

A recent BikeDekho report says leaked information points to the Konarc potentially offering up to 200 km of claimed range, along with fast-charging capability. This should therefore be treated as a reported specification rather than a final company-confirmed figure.

Earlier reports have suggested a wider range of possible battery configurations. The EL platform itself is reported to support battery packs ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh, although that does not mean every battery size will necessarily be offered on the Konarc.

Will Ather Konarc Get BaaS?

Battery as a Service (BaaS) is another feature that could make the Konarc more attractive to price-conscious buyers.

Ather already offers BaaS on select models. Under the company’s existing system, customers pay for the scooter without the battery upfront and then subscribe to a battery plan based on usage. Ather says its BaaS model can reduce the upfront cost of ownership, with plans based on kilometres ridden.

However, Ather has not yet officially confirmed BaaS specifically for the Konarc. If the company extends the model to its upcoming mass-market scooter, it could potentially make the entry price considerably more attractive.

Ather Konarc Expected Price

Ather has yet to announce the Konarc’s official price. Industry reports currently place the expected starting price at around ₹1 lakh to ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). At that level, the scooter would sit below Ather’s existing Rizta and 450 products and compete in India’s highly competitive family electric-scooter segment.

The actual final price, however is going to hinge on the battery setup, the added features and also whether Ather decides to offer multiple variants.

Ather Konarc vs Rizta: Whats the difference?

The Konarc looks like it plays a slightly different role in Ather’s line-up. The Rizta is basically aimed at a family focused scooter segment, while the Konarc is expected to take the brand even more down the pricing ladder. The EL platform has been built as a scalable foundation, so it can support multiple products and different battery configurations too.
