Shalini Passi on Mallika Sherawat’s remark about Rhea Chakraborty
During an exclusive conversation with Zoom, Shalini Passi opened up about the heated exchange involving Mallika Sherawat and Rhea, explaining why she felt the remark “Oh Rhea, you were in jail. This is a big comeback for you.?” made during their argument crossed a personal line.
For me, on a personal level, away from the show, I have always made a conscious effort to support women, not to pull down anybody, because I know how difficult it is as a woman to be wherever they are,” she said. She added, “Whether it’s even when it’s a housewife or a businesswoman or anybody, you know, a mother, a wife, a daughter, even when you are from a privileged family, there is still a struggle. Women really have to struggle to make a point.” Emphasising that this was a matter of principle for her, Shalini stated, “Principally, I will never pull down a girl. That stand for me is very important.
Shalini Passi explains why she thought Mallika Sherawat was a traitor
Shalini Passi recalled how she tried to read the contestants’ expressions during the task to understand what they were thinking. She said ’s expression stood out to her because it was difficult to read, which eventually made Shalini suspect that she could be the traitor. “Basically, when Karan Johar asked us to remove the blindfolds, we were all looking at each other. Someone’s facial twitch, someone being intense or someone being tense, I was also noticing everybody,” Shalini said.
She explained that while some contestants’ expressions were easier to understand, Mallika’s face appeared particularly difficult to read. “Most of the others, you can read their faces. Mallika’s face was very straight, and her eyes were completely wide open like this,” she recalled. Shalini admitted that she knew Mallika through her movies and songs but did not know her personally, which made it harder for her to understand her behaviour during the game.
“Of course, I know her from her movies and songs, but in real life, I didn’t really know her,” said.
She added that Mallika’s demeanour made her wonder if she could be the person secretly working against the others. “I thought, maybe because she is like that, perhaps that could be the reason,” Shalini said while recalling why Mallika appeared suspicious to her during the game.
