According to the actress, people should think about how they can contribute to the country’s progress instead of constantly focusing on what they have received from it.
Isha Koppikar says her ‘devotion’ is for India, not any political party
Taking to her Instagram account on August 18, Isha Koppikar addressed the “andhbhakt” label, clarifying that her loyalty is not towards any political party but India. The Kaante actress said she takes pride in loving her country and believing in its progress.
“If loving your country, believing in India, and wanting its progress is devotion, then yes, I am proud to be a devotee, a blind devotee. But my devotion is not for any political party, but for my country, for my India. Nation first.” She further stressed that patriotism should involve respecting and contributing to the place one calls home.
“Wherever you may live, learn to love that place, respect that place, and contribute to it,” she said. Isha also explained that patriotism is not simply about expressing love for the nation but about taking meaningful steps towards its betterment. “Be proud of the home you choose. Because patriotism is not just saying, I love my country. It is doing something that makes your country better,” Isha shared.
