Patna: As the Bihar assembly elections 2025 are coming closer, the political stirring has reached the peak. Every step is being kept thoughtfully on the electoral board. In this series, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav called a big meeting of the Grand Alliance (RJD, Congress, Left, VIP and other colleagues) at his residence in Patna. This meeting is also being considered special because the next day, an important meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) is going to be held in Patna. This strategic trick of Tejashwi has increased the stir not only in Bihar but also in the corridors of national politics.

All the leaders together held a long discussion on seat sharing, list of candidates and election strategy. Sources say that now the Grand Alliance seat has reached the final round regarding seat sharing and the announcement of the names of candidates till Dussehra is also possible.
Congress’s increasing activism
Parallel to this meeting of the Grand Alliance, the Congress has also started showing activeness in Bihar. Karnataka Deputy CM D.K. Shivkumar also reached Patna to attend yesterday’s meeting and stressed the role of the Congress, calling unemployment and migration as the biggest problem. At the same time, Congress spokesperson Alka Lamba also called Tejashwi Yadav the main face of the alliance. However, he also added that CM face would be declared only after the seat sharing and the list of candidates is final. It is clear that the Congress is making every effort to save its seats in the alliance and increase political presence.
Tejaswi’s strategy
Tejashwi Yadav has called this meeting just before the CWC meeting. From which it can be understood that stunning wants to strengthen its leadership role in the coalition. He showed that the axis of the Grand Alliance in Bihar is the same. The Congress and the Left Party should believe their leadership or not, but the same face is more effective among the public.
By calling a meeting before the CWC meeting, Tejashwi indicated that the seat -sharing and leadership in the alliance would be at whose behest. That is, the Congress will have to create its strategy around Tejashwi.
BJP-JDU vs. Grand Alliance
Bihar’s electoral equation has become a contest of “Anubhav vs Josh” this time.
- BJP-JDU (NDA): The focus of the NDA is on its old and tried faces. Statistics show that in the 2010, 2015 and 2020 elections, BJP reiterated an average of 34 candidates and 26 candidates. Relying on the caste equation and permanent vote bank is part of their strategy.
- Grand Alliance (RJD-Congress-Matter): On the contrary, both RJD and Congress are trying to bring forward youth and new faces. Tejashwi Yadav himself is a young face and he is constantly trying to convey that “Bihar’s future is safe in new hands”. The Congress is also planning to give tickets to youth and active local leaders despite organizational weakness.
Chirag Paswan’s Factor
Chirag Paswan’s factor makes the politics of Grand Alliance more complicated. LJP (Ram Vilas) is currently part of the NDA, but is both the political style of Chirag and their young image, the challenge and opportunity for the Grand Alliance. Stunning and Congress have to understand that if you want to attract young voters, then “new face” is not enough – cultural grip and management of ethnic mathematics is equally important.
