Who is Mithun Manhas, Early Life and Education Qualification
Mithun Manhas was born on 12 October 1979 in Jammu. He did his early studies from RRL School and presentation convent. Later, 12th Shri Mahavir Jain passed from Higher Secondary School. He completed his graduation from Government Ganni Memorial Science College in Jammu. Manhas was active in sports since childhood. His maternal uncle was also a cricketer and after seeing him, Mithun dreamed of making a career in cricket. His father was the Chief Medical Officer at the University of Jammu and always supported his game.
Mithun Manhas’ cricket journey: Starts at the age of 12
Mithun started playing cricket at the stadium at the age of just 12. In 1990, he received selection in the Under-15 team of Jammu and Kashmir. He then performed brilliantly while playing in the Under-16 and Under-19 teams. In the Under-19, he scored around 750 runs in 1995 to become the country’s highest scorer. His hard work paid off and he became the captain of the Jammu and Kashmir team. His identity became in junior cricket and he was selected for the North Zone team.
Delhi Ranji team and Mithun Manhas’ IPL career
After 12th, Manhas came to Delhi at the age of 17 and played in the premiere tournament there. His performance between veterans like Virender Sehwag and Ashish Nehra was excellent. After this, he was selected in the Delhi Ranji team.
- In 2001-02, he made it to the players who scored more than 1000 runs in the Ranji Trophy.
