Karan Johar’s joke on Farah Khan’s cook Dilip steals spotlight at Homebound premiere

Karan Johar and Farah Khan’s playful banter became the highlight of the star-studded premiere of Neeraj Ghaywan’s ‘Homebound’ in Mumbai on Monday night.

The event, which had already drawn attention for the film’s Cannes buzz, saw Bollywood’s finest in attendance, including Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, Vishal Jethwa, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Hrithik Roshan, Vicky Kaushal, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, and Rhea Chakraborty.

Referring to Farah’s viral cook, Dilip, who often appears in her YouTube vlogs, Karan joked, “I want to say no one is more popular than Dilip. Dilip zyada aage nahi chala gaya? (Hasn’t Dilip gone a bit too far ahead?)” Farah quickly asked, “What about me?” to which Karan replied with mock seriousness, “No, no.” The exchange left the audience in splits and instantly went viral.

 

Karan and Farah have been friends since the late 90s when they first worked together on Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Duplicate’. They have often entertained fans with humorous social media reels and collaborations, including a viral YouTube tour of Karan’s home.

On the work front, Karan Johar is preparing for the release of his Dharma Productions , directed by Shashank Khaitan and starring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi. The romantic comedy is set to hit theatres on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Dussehra.

Meanwhile, Farah Khan recently choreographed Tamannaah Bhatia in the song ‘Gafoor’ for Aryan Khan’s debut series ‘Ba***ds of Bollywood’, which quickly went viral across social media.
