Actress-comedian Bharti Singh described Independence Day as a celebration of the diverse culture, traditions and spirit of togetherness that define India, saying the occasion reminds her of the many things that make being Indian special.
Bharti said India’s food, festivals, languages and its “craziness” were among the things she cherished, along with the country’s ability to find reasons to celebrate together.
“Independence Day for me is all about celebrating the things that make being Indian so special — our food, our festivals, our languages, our craziness and, most importantly, the way we always find a reason to celebrate together!” she said.
She added that her work as an entertainer gave her an opportunity to bring happiness to people through laughter.
Bharti also spoke about her upcoming project with husband Harssh, saying the couple were preparing to bring ‘Indian Game Show’ to audiences. She said the programme would feature games, fun, playful banter and plenty of laughter.
Urging people to celebrate the occasion with their families, Bharti said, “This Independence Day, let’s celebrate with our families, eat something delicious, laugh a little louder and be grateful for the incredible country we call home.”
Harssh also reflected on India’s unity in diversity, describing Independence Day as a reminder of the freedom that binds people despite differences in culture, language and traditions.
“Independence Day is always a special reminder of the freedom, unity and diversity that make our country so beautiful,” he said.
He said entertainers were fortunate to contribute laughter and happiness to people’s lives and expressed excitement about celebrating Independence Day with audiences through their upcoming show.
According to Harssh, ‘Indian Game Show’ is intended to create a space where families and friends can come together, have fun and create happy memories.
Bharti and Harssh, known for their comic chemistry and entertaining on-screen presence, are set to bring their mix of humour, games and banter to the upcoming ‘Indian Game Show’.
