Establishment in 7th century
Hathiagarh Maa Tripur Sundari Temple, located in Tevar village, just 14 km from Jabalpur, has become a center of faith in the whole world today. Those known as Maa Tripura Sundari and Hathiagarh Tevar. Sansadhani Jabalpur is famous for its culture, tradition and rituals. But the Tripura Sundari Temple here is unique due to its historical and spiritual importance. It is believed that this temple was established in the 7th century i.e. about 1400 years ago. At the same time, according to religious beliefs, the presence of this statue is believed to be from Dwapar Yuga.
Kuldevi of Danveer Karna
According to the legend, during the Mahabharata period, Kuldevi mother of Mahadanveer Karna was the only beauty. Karna used to serve and worship him every day and come and offer water to the mother from morning. The mythological belief is that mother Tripura Sundari was pleased and gave a boon to Karna that no matter what he donates, the treasury will always remain a one -and -a -half mind. Karna then prayed to the mother that the way she gets her grace. Similarly, their compassion should remain on the devotees in the coming ages. On this, the goddess blessed that every devotee who offers coconut in his court with true heart will be fulfilled.
Empire of King Karna under the temple
Since then, the tradition of tying coconut in this temple has been going on till date. It is said that King Karna’s empire is still present under the temple. It is said that this entire area was surrounded by dense forests. The divine statue of mother Tripura Sundari appeared under a vine tree among these forests. Since then, his worship started here and gradually this place was established as Shakti Peeth.
Who is Mata Tripura Sundari?
The statue of Maa Tripura Sundari is considered unique in the world due to its specialty. The Tripura Sundari statue contains the form of Maa Mahakali, Mahasaraswati and Mahalakshmi. Where these three goddesses are seated in the form of Pindi on the Trikut mountain of Vaishno Devi. At the same time, he has a direct statue form in this temple of Jabalpur and this feature makes it the only temple in the world. The temple priest Laxmikant Gautam says that in the investigation of the Archaeological Department, it has also been proved that the statue is about 1400 years old. However, religious beliefs believe that the statue’s existence is thousands of years old. This is the reason that this dham is not only religious but also an invaluable heritage from archaeological point of view.
Today, the court of Maa Tripura Sundari has become the center of unwavering faith of the devotees. Every year millions of devotees tie coconut here and wish to fulfill their wishes. Devotees believe that no one returns empty handed from the court of the mother. During the Navratri festival, a fair of devotees is held here. From morning till late night, long queues of devotees are engaged to see the mother.
Principal priest Bholelal Dubey says that the effect of mother’s grace is such that every devotee is drawn here. Scholars from all over the country also come to study for the nature and history of the statue. At the same time, devotees like Anchal Anchal Sonkar, Rashmi Tiwari, Arya Jaiswal, Anita Mishra, Ankita Patel, Ayushi, Deepti Patel and Krishna Chakraborty say in one voice that their every wish has been fulfilled by the grace of mother Tripur Sundari.
The view of the temple complex becomes amazing during the holy days of Navratri. The atmosphere becomes devotional with the echo of drums and dhol-nagaras and goddess hymns. Devotees reach here hundreds of kilometers away and make the head at the feet of mother Tripura Sundari.
