Kazakhstan Opens 2027 Foreign Worker Quota Applications Across All Regions

Kazakhstan has opened applications for its 2027 foreign worker quotas, giving companies across every region until September 30, 2026, to submit their requirements.

The quota application must specify the number of foreign workers the employer plans to invite, including specialist roles. Approved quotas allow companies to sponsor work authorisations for foreign employees in the region where they will work.

What Foreign Workers Should Know

For foreign workers considering Kazakhstan for employment, this is mainly an employer-side process. Workers do not apply for the quota themselves. Their prospective employer must secure the required regional quota before proceeding with the relevant work authorisation.

The quota requirement does not cover foreign nationals who are already exempt from work permit rules. Intracompany transferees, for example, fall outside the quota system.
