Lamborghini’s Temerario GT3 ditches hybrid; the V8 produces 800 bhp

New Delhi: Lamborghini have always been known for adding a racing muscle to their cars, and the Italian car maker have introduced the first one that is based on the new Temerario. The Temerario GT3 dumps the hybrid system due to regulations and instead comes with a host of upgrades that make it lighter and even tougher on the race track.

While the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 continues to power the car, it now delivers 800 bhp instead of the usual 550 bhp. The engine features a redesigned airbox, which is required for the new, smaller turbochargers, titanium connecting rods, and a new calibration that has managed to broaden the max power throughout the rev range. Lamborghini have designed it for quite a few of its host panels and suspensions to be replaced at a quick pace.

Without the hybrid system, Lamborghini have also modified the aluminium spaceframe chassis. The automaker have simplified the design, with the rear engineered to suit the new six-speed transverse gearbox. The GT3 also comes with new carbon composite bodywork that tries to maintain the Temerario’s styling while also improving the car’s aerodynamic and cooling capabilities, including the brakes, radiators and turbochargers. The front and rear ends are made in a single piece, and the floor comes with four different parts, which are all designed to make repairs easier.

The Temerario race cars have a completely integrated roll cage, better fuel flow into the tank, six-way KW dampers, a hydraulic steering rack and 18-inch Ronal AG wheels. The car is still in development and will probably be debuting in the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026.
