Nagpur: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will mark its centenary year from October 2, 2025, to Vijayadashami 2026. The celebrations will commence with the Shri Vijayadashami Utsav at Reshimbagh Ground, Nagpur. Former President of India Dr Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest, while RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will deliver the keynote address.
Addressing a press conference at Thengdi Auditorium in Nagpur, RSS All India Publicity Head Sunil Ambekar said that during the centenary year, the Sangh will focus on five key themes—environment protection, social harmony, self-reliant economy, family awareness, and civic duties. Campaigns will include door-to-door outreach, intellectual meets, Hindu conferences, and social harmony gatherings across the country.
He recalled that the RSS was founded in 1925 by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, with only 17 volunteers attending its first meeting. In 1926, the name ‘Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’ was formally adopted. What began modestly has now grown to more than 83,000 daily shakhas (branches) across India.
