Very Cold Water
During the summer season, people often like to drink very cold water. Drinking this gives instant coolness to the body. But according to Ayurveda, it can weaken Agni i.e. digestive power. Drinking too much cold water slows down the digestion process and makes the stomach feel heavy. Besides, drinking cold water suddenly disturbs the balance of the body and some people may also have problems like soreness.
Cold Water
In summer only cold water quenches thirst. It makes the body feel fresh. But if you drink cold water immediately after eating, it can slow down the digestion process. Especially sensitive people may feel discomfort in the throat or stomach. In such a situation, cold water should be consumed only with balance and wisdom.
Normal Water
Normal water i.e. water kept at room temperature is considered the best option for most people. Actually, drinking normal water does not put extra pressure on the digestive system. Also, it helps in keeping the body better hydrated. In such a situation, drinking normal water daily can be a good option.
Warm Water
Some people have the habit of drinking lukewarm water. In Ayurveda it is said to be beneficial for Agni i.e. digestive power. It has been said that lukewarm water supports digestion. Besides, it also soothes the throat and makes the body feel light. Drinking lukewarm water on an empty stomach in the morning is considered good for health.
