Bengaluru: A video shared on social media showed a kind YouTuber helping out a Rapido passenger after she got stranded on a water-logged road in Bengaluru. Netizens appreciated the Rapido driver, but also criticised the authorities for the ignorance.
The clip was shared content creator Lakshman Goswami on Instagram. The post was later circulated on other social media platforms. The video showcased Goswami on his two-wheeler riding through the flooded Marathahalli–Kadubeesanahalli Road. The waterlogged situation on the road left several vehicles stuck in the muddy water. It was then that Goswami noticed a Rapido driver and a female passenger. The passenger was seen asking the Rapido driver to cancel the ride. She added that she would walk the remaining distance. Goswami, who appeared concerned for the woman, asked how she was going to walk the distance.

The woman stated she had no choice. In response, Goswami stated, “Let me help you at least cross this road, so that you can walk the rest of the distance.” He was then seen dropping the woman ahead.
The video garnered several comments. While many lauded him, some asked the content creator why he did not help the Rapido driver. “So you left the guy and helped only the girl,” asked one.

Others were more concerned about the condition of the roads. They wondered what the tax money was being used for. The video was reshared by Karnataka Portfolio on X. They were critical about the state’s unmaintained road.
They penned, “Thanks to Lakshman Goswami for bringing attention to what can only be described as a ‘submarine road’ in Bengaluru — a stretch so waterlogged, muddy, and cratered that it looks more like a swimming pool than a city road….. This isn’t some remote village track — this is the Marathahalli–Kadubeesanahalli Road, one of the busiest corridors of the city. There is no proper black-pitching, no visible concrete, only an uneven mud track filled with potholes and dirty water.”
They highlighted the safety concerns and other issues associated with the road.
