Health Revolution in Bastar: The Government of Chhattisgarh has provided health services to the inaccessible and Naxal -affected areas of Bastar. ‘Healthy women, strong families’ campaign made it possible to examine pregnant women, vaccination and screening of cancer-TB-class cells.
Raipur. When there is talk of health facilities in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, then first of all the inaccessible forest and the rising Indravati river come to know. It is very difficult and risky to reach these areas during the rainy season. Despite this, under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and under the guidance of Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the health workers are giving priority to save their lives by reaching the patients.
Extension of health services in Naxalite affected districts
The priority of the government also includes Naxal -affected areas. The common people are now getting quality health facilities in districts like Kanker, Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada. This change is the result of good governance and continuous efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai.
Success of ‘Healthy Women, Strong Family’ campaign
Health Department Secretary Amit Kataria and Commissioner-cum-Director Dr. Priyanka Shukla are continuously working for the success of this campaign. The “healthy woman, strong family” campaign has provided health services to the most remote areas of Bijapur.
On Saturday, the health team itself rushed the boat to cross the Indravati river and organized a camp in the village Konde adjacent to Abujhmad. 132 patients were examined in this camp, including malaria, cold and skin diseases.
- 10 pregnant women were given complete health check -up, vaccination and consultation.
- Women were also given information related to nutrition, prevention of anemia and safe maternity.
Achievements of the campaign in Bijapur
The speed of the campaign in Bijapur district has been notable in the last three days.
- 3,177 people were found to be affected by high blood pressure.
- Cool 2,823 screenings were performed in women including mouth, breast and cervical cancer.
- 314 pregnant women received examination, vaccination and consultation.
- So far, TB screening of more than 1,200 people and sickle cell check of more than 800 persons have also been done.
Mother and child health services now in inaccessible areas
These data are not only numbers, but there is evidence that the government is ensuring that maternal and child health services reach the most difficult areas. Health workers are crossing the river, mountains and forests and providing life -saving services to women and children.
This effort of the government proves that “a healthy woman is the foundation stone of a strong family”. The biggest success of this campaign is that health services have a continuous access.
Positive change in health sector in Bastar
This improvement of health services in Bastar division is not only improving the standard of living of local residents, but also shows that good governance and dedication are also possible to change the most difficult areas.
