GST 2.0: The nine -day holy festival dedicated to Maa Durga is starting today i.e. September 22, Monday. From this day, new rates of GST 2.0 have also been implemented across the country. With this, the prices of many everyday things have come down. Before Chhath Puja and Diwali, it is considered a big relief for the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called this change “double blast of happiness”.
General public will get big benefit
In the new system, now GST will be imposed in only two slabs in 5% and 18%. The government says that this will make the tax system easier and the general public will directly benefit from it. Everyday things like milk, cheese, ghee, soap, shampoo have become cheaper. At the same time, the prices of expensive goods like car and AC will also be reduced.
In this season of festivals, the idols of Maa Durga and Soup-Daura used in Chhath Puja are also expected to be found cheap. Overall, GST 2.0 has brought relief for common people’s pockets before festivals. Due to decrease in GST rates before Diwali and Chhath Puja, people will get a chance to shop more. This is expected to increase the markets in the festive season. Due to everyday things being cheap, the common people will get relief, especially in Bihar.

New GST rates also implemented on old stock
Please tell that the government has clearly said that even though MRP is written more on the old stock, the shopkeepers will have to sell the same goods according to the new low rates. That is, customers will get the benefit of decreased GST rates in any case. If a shopkeeper does not give this benefit to the customers, then a complaint can be made against him. Guilty shopkeepers may also be fined or jail sentence. For this, customers can call the National Consumer Helpline (1800-11-4000) or the GST helpline (1800-1200-232) of CBIC. Apart from this, complaints can also be made on the website of the National Anti-Profiting Authority. While filing a complaint, it will be necessary to give a copy of the bill, the name and address of the shopkeeper.
