Fahmaan Khan on Goonj shooting
In an exclusive chat with Telly Talk India, shared that working on Goonj was a fun yet challenging experience because it was produced under their own banner with strict budget limitations. He said he had to ensure that the production costs stayed minimal while maintaining the film’s quality. He praised Mayur for writing and planning the film beautifully and credited the entire team for supporting the project with goodwill, respect, and love.
The actor further mentioned that the DOP team and his friends contributed immensely to the production, while Mayur’s clear vision helped the shoot run smoothly. Fahmaan revealed that although the film was initially planned for a 4-5 day schedule, the team managed to complete it within nearly 2-2.5 days. He also recalled travelling extensively between Lonavala and Karjat during the shoot.
Recalling shooting alongside trains, Fahmaan shared, “The train shots you see in the film were carefully planned because Mayur had done the recce long ago. We visited the location again, and when we saw the place, it was this secluded village at the far end of Karjat. We reached there around 6:30 in the morning after shooting all night. We had barely slept for an hour before leaving for Karjat.”
He further added, “Luckily, we got five trains in just 25 minutes, and I ran alongside all of them. One particular scene took around 25 minutes to complete. There was a drone shot happening while a train was running next to me, and I was running with it. Suddenly, after some time, I saw another train coming from the front.”
Fahmaan also recalled that during the train sequence, he was “looking for the drone” and initially believed the moment was “part of the shot,” while he stood on the side of the tracks. He shared that the drone continued searching for him, and that was when he realized he was “stuck in that moment.”
