Armaan Malik, who had earlier expressed his grief at Zubeen’s passing, wrote a moving note alongside the video. He explained how he would always sing the song during his visits to Assam and dedicate it to Zubeen Garg. This time, however, the performance felt heavier than ever. Armaan admitted that he was heartbroken that he never got the chance to truly know the iconic singer, a regret that he said would remain with him forever. Zubeen Garg’s sudden death in Singapore has left his fans devastated. According to reports, he suffered breathlessness and a seizure after jumping into the sea while scuba diving. Despite receiving immediate CPR and being rushed to Singapore General Hospital, doctors could not revive him. His post-mortem was carried out in Singapore before his mortal remains were flown to Guwahati, where thousands of fans gathered to pay their final respects. Emotional scenes were witnessed as Garg’s body was transported through the city. Admirers lined the streets, with many riding alongside on bikes and others running beside the ambulance in grief. His remains were placed at Sarusajai Stadium, where fans were allowed to offer their tributes between 9 am and 7 pm. The atmosphere was filled with both sorrow and respect, as groups of fans even sang his songs to honour his memory.
Meanwhile, the Assam government declared a three-day state mourning from September 20 to 22. National flags were flown at half-mast as a mark of respect to the beloved Ya Ali singer. Zubeen Garg may have left the world too soon, but his music continues to bring people together, ensuring that his voice will never fade away.
