The pre-release event of Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Peddi is a humongous occasion, with huge crowd attending it.
Recalling some of the biggest celebrations associated with Megastar Chiranjeevi, Mythri Ravi said, “The Vijetha event held at PWD Grounds in 1985 was massive. The Gang Leader celebrations in 1990 were conducted across three cities, with one major event at Vijayawada’s Old Bus Stand. The Indra function in 2002 at Bhavanipuram was another grand spectacle. But surpassing all of them is Ram Charan’s Peddi event at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium. If anyone can go beyond Chiranjeevi’s legacy, it is Ram Charan.”
Speaking about the film, Ravi described Peddi as much more than a regular commercial entertainer.
“Some films are known for their scale and grandness. Peddi itself is an event. It transports audiences into a completely new world. Even after leaving the theatre, viewers will carry the character of Peddi with them. Everyone who has watched the film so far has called it extraordinary. It is ready to shatter records.”
He praised Ram Charan’s commitment to the role, saying the actor understands the responsibility that comes with carrying forward his father’s legacy.
Director Buchi Babu Sana admitted to feeling both excited and nervous as Peddi gears up for its release in just 3 days.
“After Uppena, it took me five years to make another film. Uppena brought me a National Award and tremendous success for both me and the producers. The reason I spent so much time on my second film is simple- it was all for Peddi,” he said.
Though Peddi appears to be a commercial entertainer on the surface, Buchi Babu said it is fundamentally an emotional journey.
“Peddi is a commercial film with a powerful emotional core. It is the story of a sportsman and how a sport can give a person identity, dignity, and the ability to transform the people around him. This is not the story of a man who simply rises like a wave; it is the story of a man who falls and rises again. While Uppena was made on 25 Cr budget, Peddi was mounted on a massive budget of 350 Cr.”
Buchi Babu revealed that he has watched the film over a hundred times and still gets emotional during the final stretch.
“Even after watching Peddi more than 100 times, the last 40 minutes of the second half still move me emotionally. Those who watched it with me felt the same, and many reacted even more strongly.”
“Ram Charan’s heroism and screen presence are phenomenal. His performance in the climax is extraordinary. Every actor has brought life to every word I wrote.”
With confidence and gratitude, Buchi Babu concluded by saying that he would remain indebted to Ram Charan for giving him the opportunity to bring Peddi to life.
