New Delhi: The last rites of actor-model Shefali Jariwala, who tragically passed away on June 27 at the age of 42, are scheduled to be held today, June 28, at a crematorium in Oshiwara, Mumbai. Her unexpected demise has left the Indian entertainment fraternity and her legion of fans in mourning.
Shefali, who rose to prominence with her breakout appearance in the 2002 remix Kaanta Laga, was reportedly taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital after she complained of discomfort late Friday night.
Shefali Jariwala’s death reason
According to hospital sources, she was declared dead on arrival. While initial speculation has pointed to cardiac arrest as the cause of her passing, no official confirmation has yet been issued by the family. Her mortal remains were subsequently transferred to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Following the tragic news, several friends and colleagues from the industry gathered at Cooper Hospital to pay their final respects. Among those spotted were her Bigg Boss 13 co-contestants Arti Singh and Hindustani Bhau, as well as actor Surbhi Chandna. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, was seen outside the hospital, visibly distraught.

Shefali’s stint in Bigg Boss 13 had brought her back into the public eye years after her unforgettable screen debut. She had earlier been seen in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, as well as various reality television shows.
She also participated in Nach Baliye 5 and returned in Nach Baliye 7 as a wild card entrant with her now-husband Parag Tyagi, charming audiences with their chemistry. In 2018, she made her OTT debut with ALT Balaji’s adult comedy Baby Come Naa, directed by Farhad Samji.
