Before the 2025 elections in Bihar, the tussle over the post of CM in the Grand Alliance has intensified. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has described himself as a contender and said that the alliance will not contest elections without a face. He has also targeted Nitish Kumar.
Patna: The politics of Bihar seems to be intensifying once again. Prior to the assembly elections 2025, the tussle over the face of the Chief Minister’s post has started within the Grand Alliance. RJD leader and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has clearly said that “Are we BJP that will contest elections without face?”
Stunning ultimatum
Tejashwi Yadav is these days on his “complementary rights journey”. Meanwhile, he gave this big statement in a dialogue with the public. Tejashwi bluntly said that the people of Bihar have the right to know who will be the face of the Chief Minister’s post from the Grand Alliance. He made it clear in gestures that he considers himself a contender for this post.
Rahul Gandhi and CM face
Tejashwi has already considered Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the face of the Prime Minister’s post of India alliance. But when reporters asked him if Rahul had declared him the CM candidate of Bihar, he said, “Keep a little patience, the public will decide. The Chief Minister or the government is not everything, we have to make Bihar. We have to make Bihar. After seat sharing, the face will be declared.”
Direct attack on Nitish Kumar
Tejashwi Yadav also attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at Ara’s rally. He asked the public from the stage – “Do you want fake CM or real?” His indication was clear that he considers himself the “real contender” of the Grand Alliance and is calling Nitish Kumar a “fake CM”.
Congress balance
Meanwhile, the Congress has not yet made any concrete statement on the CM face. Rahul Gandhi had said that the India alliance would contest elections with a sense of mutual respect and cooperation and will give good results. It is clear that the Congress is still balanced on this issue and the final decision will be on time.
This statement of Tejashwi Yadav makes two things clear, the first that RJD is no longer ready to do politics of any agreement. Second, the grand alliance will enter the field only by placing a “clean face” in front of the public.
Bihar’s electoral equation has always been ethnic and leadership based. The public now wants change and is looking for “real CM”. Tejashwi’s strategy clearly shows that this time RJD wants to enter the electoral arena with full confidence and confidence.
