Initially there was a relationship between the two, but later the woman became suspicious about the behavior and character of the accused, after which she distanced herself from him.
According to the complaint, on September 12, 2023, the accused called the woman to his flat on the pretext of talking about their relationship. There he allegedly had sexual relations with the woman against her will.
The victim made serious allegations
The woman alleges that she became a victim of severe mental trauma and depression after the incident. He also got treated at Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal. After this she first contacted the National Commission for Women and then formally lodged a complaint with the police.
Under which sections was the case registered?
The case has been registered at Udupi Mahila Police Station. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 375 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which are provisions related to rape. At present the investigation and judicial process of the case is going on. The court has not yet made any final comment on the veracity of the allegations and the matter is sub-judice.
