Allu Arjun expressed his happiness over the development of Visakhapatnam and said he hopes the city will emerge as the next Dubai.
The actor was speaking at the inauguration of the AAA Cinemas multiplex at Inorbit Mall in Visakhapatnam. He also welcomed the inauguration of a new international airport near the city by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Allu Arjun spoke about his long association with Vizag and recalled shooting for his debut film Gangotri in the city.
“I have had a long-standing connection with Visakhapatnam. During the shooting of Gangotri, I used to roam the streets here, and back then, no one would recognise me. Now, however, I cannot move around so freely,” he said.
The actor said he was delighted to launch the AAA theatre in Visakhapatnam and acknowledged the support of his wife Sneha throughout his journey.
Allu Arjun also revealed that he took a break from the ongoing shoot of “Raaka” in Mumbai to attend the event.
Speaking about Visakhapatnam’s potential, he said Dubai has emerged as a major global travel hub and expressed his wish for Vizag to develop along similar lines and become the next Dubai. The actor also invited fans onto the stage and posed for photographs with them during the event.
